The budget crunch

Marty and I will sit down this Friday and work on the budget. I am thinking of cutting our entertainment/blow money pretty low, canceling Netflix and cutting some money from other areas (groceries, gas for the car, etc.)

The truth is, our trip next summer will be paid for with Marty's bonuses from work. What we save out of the monthly budget won't make or break the trip. But, it kind of feels like we should make the kids work towards it a little, you know? We don't want them to feel like they were handed a summer in Europe on a silver platter. I am not sure that not having Netflix will make them "feel" it, but it is the best I can come up with right now.

Any money we "save" from scrimping and saving will be blow money that may just take us to Paris or Madrid. You just never know.

So... that means no more of me sneaking off with friends for dinner, or Marty and I sneaking off for lunch. When you consider that the payoff is a 3 month trip to Europe, I get right the hell over it!

So if I am here whining on Saturday, you will know that we cut the budget even more than I was anticipating!
